Help keep healthcare heroes safe

WPCCU and Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) have partnered to raise funds for essential workers who are in need of personal protective equipment (PPE)!

LACI is answering the urgent call to help protect our brave frontline medical workers by using the unique equipment at their La Kretz campus to produce face shields for our healthcare heroes.

Donate now to help produce 30,000 face shields!

LACI’s dedicated and innovative team used the software and equipment in the Advanced Prototyping Center (APC), normally used by cleantech entrepreneurs to prototype world-changing devices to reduce air pollution and energy use and more, to optimize an open source design and delivered a prototype to an emergency physician. Now, their team and partners are producing thousands of face shields a day for doctors, nurses, and others to help protect them as they save lives.

More than 10,000 reusable face shields were produced and distributed to Los Angeles County hospitals on the front lines. A second round of support from the Octavia E. Butler Estate and Tieks allows LACI to significantly increase reusable face-shield production capacity in the APC. Their expanded program will generate an additional 20,000 face shields to be donated to Los Angeles County frontline medical workers fighting the resurgent COVID-19 pandemic.
