Welcome Daniel Baker, Chief Lending Officer

−−−−LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Water and Power Community Credit Union (WPCCU) is excited to announce Daniel Baker as Chief Lending Officer.
Baker officially started on June 23rd as the Chief Lending Officer and immediately began his work in helping the credit union become a “Great Place to Work” with his uplifting personality and positive leadership style. He is now an active member of the Executive Team and will lead many of our strategic initiatives including a modernization of WPCCU’s consumer lending operation, optimizing the real estate lending function, enhancing the member lending journey, and above all, cultivating our culture of accountability and collaboration to achieve our mission. Baker is passionate about member experience and is an advocate of leveraging data and technology to meet the WPCCU members where they are and help clear any financial hurdles they may encounter. “The Executive Team and I are confident in Daniel’s ability and qualifications to oversee the Consumer Lending and Real Estate Lending Division as he steps into his position,” said Mike Tufegdzich, WPCCU President and CEO.
Baker is active in the credit union movement and values the deeply rooted culture of collaboration within the industry. He has been a speaker on several webinars and has participated in numerous panels for the Michigan Credit Union League and NACUSO. Additionally, he has served as a board member for CUSOs and in the advisory committee
capacity for several financial technology companies. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Alma College and a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University. In addition to his formal education, Daniel also has more than 15 years of experience working in a variety of financial services industries, including insurance, card services, and banking. He most recently led a $1 billion credit union in Northern Michigan where he served as Chief Lending Officer with oversight of all consumer, real estate, and commercial lending, as well as treasury management services and collection functions. Daniel is poised to have an immediate and positive impact on Water and Power Community Credit Union and its over 40,000 members.
