Honoring Service, Building Community

Happy Veterans Day! WPCCU salutes all veterans and active-duty military personnel. We’re proud to support those who have served our country. Our connection with local veterans continues to grow stronger through community outreach, event sponsorships, and meaningful partnerships. Whether it’s providing financial education or connecting veterans with essential local resources, our team is honored to serve those who have served us.

Supporting Veterans in Our Communities

Just last month, our Westchester Branch participated in the Carson Veterans & Community Resource Fair, hosted in partnership with U.S. Vets Inglewood. This free community event connected local veterans with valuable services and support programs designed to help them thrive.

WPCCU was proud to be there as the local credit union, offering financial literacy resources and guidance for every stage of life. The Mayor of Carson, Lula Davis-Holmes, also spoke at the event, sharing information about additional resources available through the City of Carson Veterans Affairs Commission.

Proudly Sponsoring LADWP’s VALOR

One veterans’ group that holds a special place in our hearts is LADWP’s VALOR (Veterans Alliance for Leadership, Outreach and Recognition). Established in 2024, this employee resource group is dedicated to promoting a supportive workplace for veterans and their advocates through networking, mentorship, community service, and recruitment.

WPCCU is proud to sponsor and participate in the annual VALOR Veterans Day Celebration, which honors and recognizes LADWP employees who are veterans or currently serving in the military. Today, VALOR’s membership has grown to nearly 200 members, representing diverse backgrounds and job classifications—from engineers to field utility workers—united in service and support.

Gratitude and Volunteerism

Later this month, WPCCU team members will join the Veterans Advocacy Group of America (VAGA) at their 9th Annual Veterans Thanksgiving Appreciation Dinner on November 20th at Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in Los Angeles. Our volunteers will help serve meals and bring smiles to those who’ve served our nation.

This year, VAGA aims to provide free Thanksgiving meal packages for 400 veterans and their families, plus 100 homeless veterans and families—continuing a heartfelt tradition of support that’s been going strong for over 15 years.

We’re honored to take part in this celebration of gratitude, giving back to the men and women who’ve given so much for our freedom.

💙 WPCCU: Proud to Serve Those Who Served

Our commitment to veterans extends beyond events, it’s a part of who we are. Through financial education, partnerships, and community involvement, WPCCU remains dedicated to helping veterans and their families achieve stability, empowerment, and financial well-being.
