In Memoriam

Two burning candles.

In loving memory of Marina Saheghian

2021 WPCCU lost a beloved employee, Marina Saheghian. We lost Marina much too soon, and she will be missed by all of us.

Marina was hired by Water and Power Community Credit Union in March 1994. She received many accolades from members over the years. Marina loved trying new cuisine, cooking, and traveling, and had been to Italy and Germany during her travels abroad.

WPCCU staff members share their sentiments about Marina:

  • Alyson R., Call Center Manager: "Marina was the ultimate team player. She was the first to arrive and the last to leave at the end of the day. Marina is a bright light and always displayed a positive attitude. Marina received many commendations for the service she provided and beloved by our members. She was extremely generous and kind. Marina was a good listener and had a knack for letting you know she knew what was important in your life. She was quite the fashionista and always looked her best. We have not since been the same. She has been terribly missed. She is family to us all. I can go on and on."
  • Nicole A., Member Service Representative: "Marina always had a smile on her face. Every morning she would walk in and say “Good morning, Good morning!” and wave with a huge smile on her face. She was always quick to offer a helping hand. To say I was heartbroken after hearing of her loss is an understatement. I think about her every day. She is truly missed by us all. May she rest in peace."
  • Sandra O., Lead Member Service Representative: "Marina was like a big sister to me who made me laugh and was always smiling regardless of how much of a rough day she was having. She enjoyed helping people and members always expressed how helpful and kind she was. She was my go to person for work and personal advise and was a great listener. Since she left us, there has been a huge void in the call center. She was a one of a kind generous person and the call center will never be the same without her. She is truly missed."
  • Azariah S.,  Member Service Representative: "Marina was a gentle spirit and curious about others. She offered a warm presence to everyone that is rare to find. She loved her sons. The way she spoke about her sons left no room for doubt with how much she adored them. She always made herself available to help with work related matters. I observed how much she enjoyed connecting with others in meaningful ways. I echo what Alyson shared, Marina was a bright light. A quiet one, but bright nonetheless. I keep the blanket she gave to me for Christmas nearby. Her presence is greatly missed."
  • Elva C., Member Service Representative: "Marina, I know you are watching from above. Thank you for the good times. You were a great co-worker, friend and my angel. Love you, miss you. Till we meet again."
  • Linda S., retired: "Marina was such a loving, caring, and generous person who will be missed. She wasn’t just a great coworker but she was a great friend of mine for many years. She was a hard worker who was the first person to arrive and the last person to leave the office. I was always able to rely on her and she was always willing to lend a helping hand with a big smile. I will always remember her beautiful smile and how much of a beautiful person she was."
