−−−−LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Water and Power Community Credit Union (WPCCU), headquartered in Los Angeles, received approval of its community charter expansion by the Department of Business Oversight.

The approval means that WPCCU can expand its membership to serve all people who live, work, worship, or attend school in Los Angeles County. Previously, its community charter allowed various areas of the greater Los Angeles.

“From the mountains to the sea, we’re excited to expand our field of membership. From the Antelope Valley, to the San Fernando Valley, from the San Gabriel Valley, to the Gateway Cities, from the South Bay to Santa Catalina Island, we can now reach out to all residents of Los Angeles County, said Celeste Zibelli, Vice President, Marketing and Financial Services. “We can seamlessly serve all people throughout Los Angeles County, bringing them a better banking alternative with a human-centered approach that provides better overall value.”

“We have a deep-rooted history in serving Los Angeles Department of Water and Employees and their families since 1936,” said Barry Roach, President and Chief Executive Officer. “That will not change. We have been serving communities of the greater Los Angeles area, and now all residents of Los Angeles County can do all of their banking with WPCCU. “
